MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, NJ — A home on East Road in the Belford section of Middletown Township caught fire at 8:48 p.m. Thursday, the Middletown Township Fire Department spokesman Dennis Fowler told Patch.
The fire appeared to have started in the attic above the garage, and smoke and flames could be seen pouring forth from underneath the garage roof. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the area of origin, but there was smoke damage throughout the residence.
