MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Calling all Regina George queen bees and wannabes! Direct from the casting agency, here is more information about how to audition to be an extra in the musical movie adaptation of "Mean Girls," which will begin filming in Middletown next month.

The filming is scheduled to begin in early March. The work is also paid: The Non-SAG rate is $165/10hours (OT after 10). They will also give you a COVID testing stipend of $60; they are requiring COVID testing prior to filming.

Grant Wilfley Casting, which is running the casting, will still not reveal the name of the movie; in emails back and forth with this Patch reporter, they are calling it a "high school movie musical." But NJ.com reported two weeks ago it is a musical revival of Tina Fey's 2004 cult classic "Mean Girls." It will stream on Paramount+ when completed.
