The Strauss Mansion is a classic Victorian-era property located in Atlantic Highlands, a historical town known for having dozens of extremely well-preserved turn-of-the-century homes. Perched on a hill, the Strauss Mansion has stunning views of Sandy Hook Bay. The 21-room home was built as a "summer cottage" for a wealthy New York City businessman and his wife; it was built in 1893, the height of the Gilded Age. It is said to be haunted.
Located only a few miles away from New York City, Atlantic Highlands was home to many lavish summertime, bay-front estates at the time. The Strauss Mansion is listed on the New Jersey and National Registers of Historic Places.
