Keansburg, Keyport, South Amboy Lead In Heroin Abuse, Treatment

KEANSBURG, NJ — Keansburg, Keyport, South Amboy and Shrewsbury Township lead a newly released list of the most heroin-abuse cases in Monmouth County.

The statistics were released this week by the Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services in the New Jersey Department of Human Services, and they're based on the number of people seeking treatment for heroin abuse.

These are numbers from 2018, the most recent year data is available.

While Keansburg, Keyport and South Amboy led Momouth County, they did not lead the state: Seaside Heights, Egg Harbor Twp. and Atlantic City reported the highest numbers in the state for people seeking treatment for heroin abuse.
