Man Indicted For Girlfriend's Murder In Atlantic Highlands
He was found with his girlfriend's body in his car in Atlantic Highlands in June, say police, and indicted on first-degree murder Wednesday:
ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ — An Edison man was indicted Wednesday for first-degree murder after police say he was found with the body of his former girlfriend in the backseat of his car in Atlantic Highlands in June of this year.
Jordan J. Vilcatoma-Correjo, 28, was also indicted Wednesday for second-degree disturbing human remains.
His former girlfriend has been identified as 26-year-old Sonia Gonzales, also of Edison.

As Patch reported at the time, shortly before 7:45 a.m. on June 10, members of the Atlantic Highlands Police Department found the Honda Accord parked on Asbury Avenue between Navesink and Grand avenues.
The woman's body was found in the backseat of the car, and Vilcatoma-Correjo was also located at the scene and immediately taken into police custody.

He is currently being held at the Monmouth County Jail until his trial.
If found guilty, he is facing life in prison without the possibility of parole, due to the serious nature of the crime, said Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey.

The case against Vilcatoma-Correjo was investigated by the Monmouth County Prosecutor, the Atlantic Highlands Police Department, the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Edison Police Department.
