Man Lured 2 Teenage Girls In Atlantic Highlands Tuesday: Police

Atlantic Highlands police say a man tried to lure two different teenage girls into his car Tuesday morning. He has New York plates.

ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ — A man tried to lure two teenage girls in two separate incidents Tuesday in Atlantic Highlands, police there report.

The possible attempted luring happened at approximately 11:50 a.m. on Tuesday, August 28, Atlantic Highlands Police Chief Jerry Vasto said.

Both teenage girls said they were approached by a white man in a dark gray sedan with black and orange New York license plates. Both incidents took place on Ocean Blvd. between Seventh Ave. and Auditorium Drive in Atlantic Highlands.

The girls had been together just prior to the incidents, but separated and were approached individually by the suspect in a short time span, police said. The vehicle is described as a gray two-door or four-door sedan, in good condition. The suspect is described as a middle-aged white man, balding with very little hair wearing clear eye glasses, believed to be metal or rimless frames. One witness states he was possibly wearing a salmon- or orange-colored polo shirt.

His car was last seen traveling north on Ocean Blvd. towards First Avenue. Anyone that may have seen the vehicle, suspect or incident is requested to contact the Atlantic Highlands Police Department @ 732-291-1212. As always, all calls remain confidential.
