Man Sold Drugs Near Port Monmouth Elementary, Police Say

A local man was found selling marijuana near Port Monmouth elementary school last week, police say.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — A local man was found selling marijuana near Port Monmouth elementary school last week, police say. James Catapano, 30, of Port Monmouth, was found with 680 grams of marijuana, police said. Much of it was individually packaged in Zip Lock bags, which police said he intended to sell. The rest was in a large, heat-sealed bag, police said.

Catapano also had fireworks on him, both small and large mortar explosives, police said, which is a crime in New Jersey. He also had a digital scale on him.
