Mayor Rast presents proclamation to Bayshore Pharmacy marking 50 years
Mayor Fred Rast presented the company with a proclamation recognizing Bayshore Pharmacy's achievement and contributions in the community.
ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ — Fifty years wasn’t the only thing that Bayshore Pharmacy celebrated at the company’s gathering on November 8th. Mayor Fred Rast presented the company with a proclamation recognizing the company’s achievement and contributions in the community, including jobs, community health care, and community service to local organizations.
At the event, the Henry Hudson Music Department performed and sold hot dogs and hot cider to raise funds for their spring season. Over $300 dollars was raised and the band received a surprise visit from big band leader and world-famous drummer, Max Weinberg.
The Mayor recognized the contribution the pharmacy has made to the local economy, employing over 500 residents during the past fifty years. For many of the employees, it was a first job and an opportunity to learn good work habits and customer service.

The event included giveaways, “Shop Local” t-shirts featuring the other local businesses, and a food drive for the Atlantic Highlands Food Pantry. “The food pantry holds a special place for us at the pharmacy”, Richard Stryker explained. “We are all born and raised locally. From Atlantic Highlands to Middletown and Leonardo, we know our customers, patients, and neighbors. We understand that families are still struggling with the economy and the recovery from Sandy. The food pantry can supply the help our neighbors need to get back on their feet, but they can’t do it without help. When customers shop at Bayshore Pharmacy, the money they spend stays right here in the community, rather than being sent to some city in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, or overseas.”
Bayshore Pharmacy, located in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey, is a locally owned, full-service pharmacy, specializing in compounded prescriptions, immunizations, and insurance billing. Serving the area for over 50 years and two generations, Bayshore Pharmacy also provides the area’s largest card and gift shop. Plenty of parking and delivery service is available.
