Middletown Cuts Into Summer With 5 More School Days
The last day for Middletown public schools was supposed to be Wednesday, June 20 this year. Now, the last day will be Wednesday, June 27.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — How to make up all that missed school thanks to the snowstorms this winter? Middletown, NJ has extended the school year by five extra days, tacking five more days onto the school year calendar.
The last day for Middletown public schools was supposed to be Wednesday, June 20 this year. Now, the last day will be Wednesday, June 27, a full week later, the district announced.
To date, there have been emergency closings due to weather on Jan. 4, Jan. 5, March 7, March 21 and March 22 this year, the school district confirmed to Patch. Middletown schools have had this policy for the past several years now; students, staff and parents know that when there is a snow day, that day will be tacked onto the end of the school year. A Middletown district employee said they have this policy because they don't like to cut into spring break.
