Middletown Man Found With Heroin in Hazlet, Police Say
A former Middletown South football player was stopped at Laurel Ave. and 11th Street in Hazlet March 23.

HAZLET, NJ - A Middletown man was arrested on Laurel Avenue in Hazlet March 23 and charged with heroin possession, and possession of a needle.
A Hazlet resident reported two suspicious men who parked their car on Central Ave that day and walked away from it. Hazlet police stopped Christian Nietschke, 23, of Middletown, at the intersection of Laurel Avenue and 11th Street because he fit the description of one of the men.
Nietschke was found to have an active traffic warrant out of Wall Township, which led to a search, where the officer said he found nine wax folds of suspected heroin and a syringe on Nietschke. The heroin was stamped "play boy" with a red bunny, police said. It will be sent to a State Police lab to confirm.
