Middletown Police Give Free Car Seat Safety Check This Friday, Sept. 15

Patch has reported on far too many incidents where police said a child or baby was not secured in a proper car seat:

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Parents, grandparents, caretakers: Make sure your child's car seat is installed correctly! The Middletown Township police department will be hosting a free car seat safety checkpoint this Friday, Sept. 15. From 2 - 6 p.m. Friday, police officers will be in the parking lot of the Old Village Fire Company at 1340 Rt. 35.

Car seats will be installed inside the fire company's building. Contact Middletown police Traffic Safety at 732-615-2045 for additional information. Patch has reported on far too many incidents where police said a child or baby was not secured in a proper car seat: This past summer, a 1-year-old baby girl was ejected in a car crash Sunday, July 9 on the Garden State Parkway near Tinton Falls. The girl was in a booster seat, not an infant car seat.
