MIDDLETOWN, NJ — A teen from Middletown, Ryan Colley from Boy Scout Troop #246, achieved the rank of Eagle Scout this March.

Colley was honored March 7 at Court of Honor ceremony, where he received a congratulatory certificate from Middletown Committeeman Ryan Clarke, who is also an Eagle Scout.

Eagle Scouts must complete service projects to earn this prestigious title. For his project, Ryan volunteered at Serenity Stables, From Combat to Calm, located at 660 Kings Highway East.

This is a local non-profit and their mission is to provide horse-riding therapy that supports the psychological health and improved quality of life for U.S. military service members, veterans and their families.

As part of his project, Ryan built two hay-loading trolleys and a ramp. The trolleys will facilitate the loading and transport of slow feed hay bags from the storage shed to the horses in the paddocks. He also raised money to help cover the cost of the building materials and supplies.
