MMKIDS at the Monmouth Museum

Winter Holidays and School Vacation Breaks, the WonderWing and the Becker Children's Wing at the Monmouth Museum offer special activities.

In this year’s Museum Holiday Exhibition entitled Winter Wonders, visual depictions of frozen scenery, holiday scenes and winter activities will be displayed along with the ever popular Winter Wonderland Model Train Display for children of all ages! An important part of the museum tradition is a Holiday Tree decorated by the Friends of Monmouth Museum. In addition to the art work and model trains in the Main Gallery, a myriad of talented local artisans is showcased in the Nilson Gallery's Holiday Gift Gallery, with one of-a-kind gifts for your shopping convenience

During the winter holidays and school vacation breaks, the WonderWing and the Becker Children’s Wing at the Monmouth Museum offer special activities. For the Van Gogh or Picasso in your family, special monthly themed crafts are made in the Green Arts Studio where kids of all ages can access their creative side using recyclable materials. The Museum’s Discover and Exploration Series explores cool science facts, trivia, the arts and more! This is a Docent-led interactive 20-minute program that is perfect for the young scientist in your family! Preschool Story and Craft times are offered in the WonderWing, and family friendly films are shown on the big screen in the Becker Wing Media Center where there is also an exchange library of children’s books.

On Saturday, December 31st from 10:00AM – Noon MMKIDS will create noise makers, hats and masks. Then celebrate with a Happy New Year Parade through the Museum before gathering for a New Year’s Count Down at 12 NOON to welcome in 2017 complete with a ginger ale toast! Meet for Toast at 11:55am.

The Monmouth Museum, founded in 1963 as a Museum of Ideas, presents changing art, history and science exhibitions to educate and entertain while providing a destination for creative expression and life-long learning to the diverse community it serves. Imaginative and informative changing exhibitions in the Main Gallery and Nilson Gallery present a wide variety of art in all media. Admission is $8.00 for visitors age 2 and over.
