Monmouth County Fair Offers Pie-Eating Contest July 30

Photo from past years. Contest will be held on the last day of the Monmouth County Fair, Sunday, July 30, at the East Freehold Showgrounds.

FREEHOLD, NJ – On your mark, get set, eat! A splendidly messy pie-eating contest will be held on the last day of the Monmouth County Fair, Sunday, July 30. This messy but delicious contest uses pies donated by Wemrock Orchards. Children age 12 and under will compete at 1 p.m. and ages 13 and up at 1:15 p.m. Those interested can register inside the Home & Garden tent starting at 11 a.m. Winners take home a trophy.

Held at East Freehold Showgrounds, Kozloski Road, Freehold from Wednesday-Sunday, July 26-30, the Fair also offers family fun with 4-H exhibits, rides, entertainment, home and garden competitions, opening night fireworks, and more! Fair hours are 5-11 p.m. on Wednesday-Friday, July 26-28; 3-11 p.m. on Saturday, July 29; and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. on Sunday, July 30. Admission is $8 per person; children 12 and under are free.

The Monmouth County Fair is organized and presented by the Monmouth County Park System in cooperation with the Monmouth County 4-H Association. The Monmouth County Park System, created in 1960 by the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders, is Monmouth County’s Open Space, Parks and Recreation agency.
