New Yoga Studio Opens In Keyport

Pearl Yoga and Fitness offers yoga classes seven days a week at 351 Maple Place.

KEYPORT, NJ – Pearl Yoga & Fitness opened at 351 Maple Place in Keyport this month with a ribbon cutting on Friday, April 7. The studio offers a full schedule of yoga classes, as well as a variety of special cardio-based classes and other special events.

The yoga and fitness studio is owned by longtime Keyport resident Janet Gallo, who named the business after Keyport’s nickname as the “Pearl of the Bayshore.”

“The vision for Pearl Yoga & Fitness is to be a place for clients to go to heal, relieve stress, grow, engage in self-discovery and get fit,” Gallo said. “The benefits of establishing a regular yoga practice are continuously being affirmed by medical research and include, but are not limited to: stress reduction, improved fitness, and management of certain chronic conditions.”

When asked why she chose Keyport as the location for the new studio, Gallo said it was all in honor of her late mother.

“My mom loved Keyport,” Gallo said. “She was born and raised in Alabama, but came to Keyport to be with my dad. If she were still alive, there is no doubt in my mind she would be mad if I opened anywhere but Keyport.”
