Pedestrian Struck In Middletown Monday
A 59-year-old woman from Middletown was hit by a car Monday afternoon in the Lincroft section of town, and she was seriously injured.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — A 59-year-old woman from Middletown was hit by a car Monday afternoon in the Lincroft section of town, and she was seriously injured.
She was hit by an 85-year-old woman, said police.
What appears to be an accident happened at approximately 3:00 p.m., when Middletown police were called to Middletown Lincroft Road near the intersection of Sunnyside Road for a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle.

The woman, who was walking at the time, sustained serious injuries. She was taken Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center for treatment.
The driver of the vehicle, an 85-year-old Middletown resident, remained on the scene and is cooperating in the police investigation. There have been no summonses issued at this time. The crash is still under investigation.

This is the second instance of a pedestrian being struck in Middletown so far this fall: In September, a man was hit on Leonardville Road. He was also seriously injured, but survived.
