Pro-Trump Protesters Rally Outside Murphy's Middletown Mansion
Self-described "pissed-off Republicans" yelled at police to open up Navesink River Road and let them walk closer to Murphy's home Saturday.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — A group of pro-Trump protesters rallied outside Gov. Phil Murphy's private home on Navesink River Road Saturday, in a "Stop the Steal" rally. While it's unclear how many were there, organizers said it was in the "hundreds."
"We're live here at Gov. Murphy's street, where we are protesting his unconstitutional orders as well as stop the steal," said David Winkler, a Republican who has previously run for Congress in New Jersey and lost.
He was referring to the unfounded claim made by President Trump and some of his supporters that Biden illegally won the election.

"Police are blocking us from going down Gov. Murphy's street," said Winkler in this video he recorded of the rally. "But you've got hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of pissed-off Republicans."
Protest attendees screamed at Middletown police to remove the barricades and let them walk down Navesink River Road.

"This is a public road! Make sure everyone gets their badge numbers and their names," shouted one man.
Middletown police officers set up barricades and blocked the protesters from going down the street and closer to Murphy's estate, which is set back from the road among the other mansions along the Navesink River, in the wealthiest ZIP code in Middletown and among the richest in all of New Jersey.
"This has noting to do with Biden, by the way," Winkler added. "This has to do with unconstitutional emergency orders that have killed our economy. We got Proud Boys here, we got Trump supporters here. We got BLEXIT. We got everybody here. We got everybody outside Murphy's street."
A week earlier, on Sunday evening, Nov. 22, Murphy and his family were subject to a profanity-laced tirade from two women while they ate dinner outside at Char Steakhouse in downtown Red Bank.
"Oh my god Murphy, you're such a d***," a woman passing by said to the governor while he ate, as Patch reported. "You having fun with your family? In the meantime, you're having all this other b******* going on."
When one of Murphy's sons asks the woman to put her mask on, she turns his attention to him, cursing at him and saying she doesn't need a mask because there's nothing wrong with her. The women also said they weren't drunk.
"I like your Trump phone case," his son said. "Guess who Trump likes? He likes my dad."
"No, he doesn't like your father," one of the women responded.
Red Bank Mayor Pasquale Menna, a Democrat, has since apologized to Murphy for the incident, saying the majority of Red Bank residents do not feel the way the women felt.
Murphy's most recent shutdowns in effect are no sitting or standing at bars; that all restaurants must close at 10 p.m. and a limit on indoor gatherings. Schools and businesses are allowed to open and operate as they see fit.

Protesters waved American flags, Trump flags and the yellow "Don't Tread On Me" snake flag.
"Why do you think this is acceptable?" A man can be heard shouting on a megaphone. "You are not above the law!"
