Sandy Affected Monmouth County Family Welcomed Home

On Tuesday, May 27  the Monmouth County Long-Term Recovery Group and its partners welcomed home the Kings, a Long Branch Family of five who were displaced and had to demolish their home due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy.

Kevin and Shannon King were living in a one-bedroom rental with their two children and Kevin’s elderly brother prior to receiving a temporary certificate of occupancy in January. After the storm they gutted their home’s first floor but soon realized it would be less costly to demolish the existing house and build a modular home than rehab the Sandy damaged structure that lay dormant on their property since the 2012 storm.
