Project Background
This collaboration between the National Park Service and Monmouth University will begin an archaeological inventory and evaluation investigation of an approximately 3-acre site around the Sandy Hook Lighthouse. Information collected will help to inventory cultural resources at the park and will aid in assessing impacts to the grounds around the lighthouse.
Volunteering for an archaeology project is a great way to gain hands-on experience, find out if archaeology is a field you want to pursue, or just have some fun outside.
