MIDDLETOWN, NJ — As President Joe Biden is due to be at Gov. Phil Murphy's Middletown estate Thursday night for a Democratic fundraiser, Middletown Police are warning residents to expect many roads closures in the area of Navesink River Road and Red Bank.

Traffic delays could even extend as far back to the Garden State Parkway Thursday afternoon and evening. The road closures will take place in the late afternoon/early evening Thursday.

"Due to an anticipated Presidential visit in Middletown on Thursday, October 6, motorists should expect delays, intermittent road closures and temporary frozen zones (no vehicles, pedestrians or bikes on roadway) in the afternoon and early evening hours in the vicinity of the Lincroft, River Plaza, Oak Hill and Navesink sections of the township as well as the Rt. 35 corridor near Red Bank. Please avoid the area and plan alternate routes."

Murphy is reportedly hosting a $100,000-per-head private fundraising dinner for the Democratic Party, and Biden will attend.

It has not been publicized who else will be attending. The fundraiser is to help Democrats across the nation ahead of the midterms.

After the fundraiser at Gov. Murphy's home, Biden will head to New York City for another private event.

The money raised Thursday night will go to the Democratic National Committee’s Grassroots Victory Fund, reported NJ.com.

Murphy and Biden strongly support each other, and have campaigned for each other many times in the past. First Lady Jill Biden campaigned at a rally in Edison last October to re-elect Murphy.
