These Port Monmouth Streets Getting Water Mains Replaced
Major water main repairs started this week on these streets in the Port Monmouth section of Middletown:
MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Major water main repairs started this week in the Port Monmouth section of Middletown.
In total, the work will take three months to complete. Workers will be out there from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
New Jersey American Water announced Monday they are replacing approximately 9,820 feet of aging water main in Port Monmouth, starting this week. The project also includes replacing two fire hydrants and 186 utility-owned service lines along the pipeline route. The company will upgrade the aging 2- and 6-inch cast iron water lines that were installed in the 1940s with new 8-inch ductile iron main along the entire length of the following streets:

- Texas Avenue
The water company says this will increase water flows for household consumption and fire protection in Port Monmouth.
J. F. Kiely Construction Co. began the work Monday, and expects to be completed within approximately three months, weather permitting. Work hours will be from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Work outside of these hours is not expected unless required to maintain project schedule.

Final street restorations will be completed in the summer of 2022.
