Thorne Middle School Wins $10,000 From PIX 11!
Thorne was chosen out of over 500 middle schools to win $10,000. Special ed teacher Kristyn Corace originally submitted Thorne's name.
MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Two weeks ago, we told you how Thorne Middle School was selected by WPIX Channel 11 for a chance at winning $10,000 as part of the TV station's contest "Fuel My Schools."
And today, Monday, Nov. 13, PIX 11 revealed that Thorne won! Thorne was chosen out of over 500 middle schools to win the grand prize, $10,000 to be spent on supplies or technology. Thorne may spend the money re-designing the media center, turning it into a technology hub, said Thorne principal Tom Olausen.
The runner up, Paterson School 26, will receive a $1,000 check from PIX11. Related: Help Thorne Middle School Win $10,000!
