Trees Fall On Homes In Middletown And Matawan
Breaking: After a tree fell on a home in Matawan, this happened at 4:30 p.m. on Wesleyan Street in Middletown Twp.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Two trees fell onto homes within hours of each other in Monmouth County this afternoon: After Patch was sent these dramatic photos of a tree that fell into a home on Freneau Avenue in Matawan, we learned of yet another tree down on a home in Middletown.
This happened at 4:29 p.m. at a home on Wesleyan Street. That's technically the Red Bank mailing address, but within Middletown Township. These photos were supplied by Middletown EMS public information officer Robert Pfleger, who was one of the first to respond to the scene.
The home is believed to have been occupied when the tree fell, but miraculously nobody was injured. Middletown Fire Co. #1 responded, as did Middletown First Aid. Nobody required medical attention at the scene.

Matawan resident Sarah Marino told Patch she was sitting in her sunroom this afternoon at her home on Freneau Avenue when she heard a crack.
"I got up and ran," she said, as a tree came down within inches of the window of her sunroom. You can see how it landed on her deck, but nearly landed in the room where she had been sitting.

The tree was rotted, she said, and thinks the wet snow brought it down.
