Video: Middletown Gas Station Worker Dragged As Robber Drives Away, Cops Say

A robber dragged a gas station worker across a parking lot as the thief drove off after stealing cash, Middletown police said.

A robber dragged a gas station worker across a parking lot as the thief drove off after stealing cash, Middletown police said.

Middletown police are asking for the public’s help in their search for the robber, and they have released video of the incident.

Around 7:25 p.m. Aug. 15, the robber pulled into the 76 Gas Station on Route 36 in the Belford section of Middletown and asked for $10 worth of gasoline.

After paying the attendant, the thief grabbed the worker’s nail apron, which contained cash.

The robber drove off, dragging the worker about 35 feet toward the highway until the nail apron ripped away.

The driver continued onto Route 36 north.

The thief got away with about $1,500 and the nail apron, which has the words “Fuel One” across the front.

The vehicle is believed to be a white, four-door 2009 to 2012 Toyota Corolla LE with tinted windows, no wheel covers and no visible license plates. The driver was black, possibly male.
