Virtual Talk About Cedar View Cemetery In Lincroft

The wooded cemetery is now the final resting place for a number of Middletown locals, including Civil War veterans.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — On August 16, learn the incredible and rich history of Cedar View Cemetery in Lincroft, in a virtual talk presented by the Middletown Township Historical Society.

The online lecture is titled "Cedar View Cemetery: How Community Partnership Revealed an Historic Lincroft Burial Ground."

The talk will be over Zoom at 7 p.m. August 16.

The land for Cedar View Cemetery, located in the Lincroft section of Middletown, was sold to 14 African-American men in the year 1850 "to be used as a burying ground."

The wooded cemetery is now the final resting place for a number of locals, including Civil War veterans. Learn about the history of this cemetery, and how the community came together to restore it within the last decade.

Joelle Zabotka, Ph.D., LCSW, LCADC, is an associate professor in the School of Social Work at Monmouth University, where her research focuses on biological mothers’ experiences with fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, parenting, and clinical topics in social work. She is also the author of a number of scholarly articles and presentations.
