Wahoo's Taco Joint Coming To Middletown

Wahoo's tacos will open this spring in the former Pathmark shopping center, where Livoti's, Bed Bath & Beyond and T.J. Maxx are now.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — If you like tacos, you're in luck: Wahoo's, a California-based Brazilian/Asian fusion chain that specializes in all kinds of tacos, plans to open in Middletown this spring.

Wahoo's will open in the former Pathmark shopping center, the Asbury Park Press reported. Italian market Livoti's is there now, as is Bed Bath & Beyond and T.J. Maxx. Wahoo's will be located next to SunRay Drugs and Medical. They hope to open in May or June, and are currently still getting permits from Middletown Township.

The Middletown outpost is their first location in New Jersey.

This franchise is owned by Hazlet resident Remo Duchi Jr., his father Remo Duchi Sr., and business partner Joe Hernando.

Duchi described the menu to the APP as a "fusion of Brazilian, Mexican and Asian." There are salad bowls, tacos, enchiladas, and burritos featuring chicken, beef, pork, tofu, shrimp and fish. You order at a counter and your food is brought to you. Wahoo's will also have a full-service bar.
