MIDDLETOWN, NJ — If you want to take yourself or the kids to see some good ice hockey this weekend, there are championship games this Friday and Saturday at the Middletown Sports Complex.

The NAHL regular season East Division champion Titans face the Jamestown Rebels in the East Division finals. This is a best of five series.

The Titans are the only playoff hockey (pro or junior) currently still going on in the state of New Jersey. The Titans advanced to the East Division finals by defeating the Northeast Generals 3 games to 2, while the Rebels defeated the Johnstown Tomahawks 3 games to 2.

During the regular season, the Titans defeated Jamestown six out of eight times by a combined score of 25 to 17.

This will be the third time these teams will be playing each other in the playoffs during the past seven years. The last time they met was during the 2018-19 season, when the Titans overcame an 0-2 deficit to win the division semi-final series.

The first time they met was in the East Division finals during the 2016-17 season. The Titans overcame an 0-2 deficit before falling in the fifth and deciding game.
