He presented himself as a financial consultant based in Red Bank. Instead, he conned clients in Brick and Keansburg, prosecutors say.

Middletown, NJ - He presented himself as a trustworthy financial consultant, and approached people down on their luck, in dire financial straits, offering to help.

Instead, this Middletown resident was a con man, the Monmouth County prosecutor charges, who allegedly opened up credit cards and tried to take out loans in his clients’ names.

Christopher Biello, 43, of Coe Place in Middletown, (pictured) was arrested Thursday and charged with theft, impersonation, and other offenses, said Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Chris Gramiccioni. Multiple calls to Biello Consulting Group based in Red Bank were not returned.

In another instance, Biello offered to engage in a short sale on a property in Brick Township. He provided the victim with a fraudulent document in an attempt to deceive him, prosecutors said.

A third incident occurred when Biello offered to assist with the financing on a property in Wyoming, where again, Biello provided the victim with a fraudulent document, prosecutors said. Gramiccioni’s office decline to specify what that document was.

Investigators are concerned additional victims may exist and are asking anyone who has any information about Biello and his activities to contact Detective Dan Wehrle, of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, at 732-431-7160 ext. 7924.

If convicted of the most serious charge, he faces five to ten years in state prison. Photo provided by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
