Food for Fines: Pay off library fines with food bank donations. Each non-perishable donation eliminates $1.00 of late fees up to $10.00 per card. Food donations cannot be used to pay for food items. Through November 19th.

Book and Author Talk presents Julie Seely, author of Skinny House, a description of her family’s experiences growing up in Mamaroneck, NY where her grandfather, one of the first African-American homebuilders, worked as a carpenter building homes for people moving north during the Great Migration of the 1920s. Teen Centennial Bingo: Complete a Bingo board to enter our centennial raffle. Through December 31st.

Happy Halloween Parade; Come in costume to our food-free Halloween Parade. Stop at several non-food trick-or-treat stations. No food or beverages other than water will be allowed at this event to make it a safe for Halloween for all our children. For all ages with an adult. Friday, October 29th @ 10:00 am and at 2:30 pm. Register online @ mtpl.org for the appropriate session.

School-Age Storytime for grades K+. Register online at mtpl.org by 10:00 am on Monday, October 25th to receive zoom link. Tuesday, October 26th @ 4:30 pm (new time).

Teen Terror-ariums: Create a Halloween themed terrarium. Tuesday, October 26th @ 3:30 pm.

Introduction to Paranormal Investigations presented by the New Jersey Ghost Hunters Society. Learn about the experiences and technology used to investigate paranormal events. Wednesday, October 27th @ 7:00 pm.

Math Tutoring grades K-5: In-person half-hour sessions per student per day. Scheduled sessions are listed on the Library’s website calendar. Register online for appropriate session @ mtpl.org.

Knitting Group meets in the Community Room on Tuesday, October 26th @ 12:30 pm.

Moon Wreath Craft Tutorial: Interested in crafting? This month we are doing a tutorial of a Moon Wreath Craft. Registration is required and there will be a limit of 10 people. Materials for craft will be provided so you can follow along with the presenter. Please note: This event is for adults 21+. In the Community Room. Thursday, October 28th @ 3:30 pm.

Russian Language Group is open to adults at all skill levels and meets weekly. No advance registration is required. Thursday, October 28th @ 7:00 pm in the NJ History Room.

Teen Virtual Halloween Costume Contest: Post a picture of your Halloween costume this year, #MTPLTeens or email teen Librarian Marissa, mchimento@mtpl.org. Bonus points for dressing as your favorite book character or in the 1920s style in honor of MTPL’s 100th anniversary. Each photo will enter into our centennial raffle. Registration required for all participants. Beginning Friday, October 1st.
