What's Happening @ Middletown Township Public Library 9/7-12/2020

The Middletown Township Public Library is closed on Labor Day, September 7th.

New hours beginning Tuesday, September 8th:

Monday-Thursday, 9:00 am – 9:00 pm.

Friday-Saturday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.

The following Library COVID procedures are in place to insure the safety of our patrons and staff. We thank you for your cooperation during these unprecedented times.

1. Maintain social distancing at all times.

2. A face covering over the nose and mouth must be worn at all times.

3. Limit your time in the Library to under one hour when possible.

4. Do not reshelf any books or materials you browsed. Leave them on the reshelving carts located around the Library as they need to be quarantined before being reshelved.

5. Room capacities will be enforced. Patrons may have to wait outside the service area or outside the Library if capacity is reached.

6. In the event room capacity is reached, patrons may be asked to limit time their in the Library.

7. For faster service, patrons may place items on hold and pick them up when notified.

8. At this time, the following rooms are closed to the public:

Community Room

Computer lab

New Jersey History Room

Small study room

Teen Room (by appointment only)

Tutoring Center

ZOOM School Age Storytime: At the end of the program, participants will be given instructions for picking up a surprise at the library. This week’s theme: Dragons! For grades K+. Tuesday, September 8th @ 4:00 pm.

Mystery Book Group online will discuss A Treacherous Curse by Deanna Raybourn on Wednesday, September 9th @ 10:00 am. Registration is required at mtpl.org. Link will be emailed on September 8th.

Rubber Duckie Book Club ZOOM Storytime meets on Thursday, September 10th @ 10:00 am.

Teen Decoupage Activity Kit: Register for a kit with supplies and instructions to make a DIY keepsake box and picture frame. Kits will be available for pickup in the Children's Room on September 10th. Elmer’s White Glue is needed but will not be supplied with the kit. Register online @ mtpl.org. For grades 6+. Thursday, September 10th.

Pete the Cat Rockin’ In My School Shoes and Groovy Sunglasses will be shown on our YouTube Channel @ mtpl.org/mtpl@home. For all ages. Thursday, September 10th all day.

YouTube Science Storytime for ages 4+. Friday, September 11th, all day.

Film Discussion Group online will discuss His Girl Friday (1940) starring Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell. View the film on HOOPLA using your library card. Register online in advance. ZOOM link will be sent out on September 10th. Friday, September 11th @ 2:00 pm.

Teen Zone is open for limited browsing BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Available times will be posted on the Library’s online calendar. Appointments are for one person for 15 minutes. To register, click on TEEN ZONE BROWSING on the calendar.
