What's Happening at Middletown Township Public Library June 28th through July 4th

Free programs at the Middletown Township Public Library

Library is closed on Sunday, June 28th and Saturday, July 4th.

Homebound Services Program: Can’t get to the library? Let the library come to you!

Temporarily or permanently homebound? Contact the Circulation Desk, 732-671-3700 Ext 310 OR go online to mtpl.org/?q=homebound service to receive a registration application to apply for a Homebound Resident Library Card. A volunteer will deliver pre-selected materials and return them by the due date.

IN THE MTPL GALLERY: Off the Wall, an art sale to benefit the Friends of the Middletown Township Public Library. Pastels, pen and ink, photography, framed and unframed by Helen “Eleni” and Ernest Antholis. Literally buy art “off the wall” during sale hours by contacting the artists. One-third of the purchase price will be donated to the library. Special discounts on Saturday, June 27th, noon to 2:00 pm. Through July 1st.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors, a free peer-led volunteer local job search support and networking group, meets on Thursday, July 2nd @ 10:00 am.

Writing Group: Do you enjoy writing? Come to this weekly workshop to improve your writing. Share your work with others, give and receive constructive criticism, and utilize prompts and activities to increase your creativity and writing skill. Come every week, or any week. For grades 6-12. Featuring Literacy Calendar Activities - Red, White, & Blue (K into 1st); To Do (1st into 2nd); Fireworks Words (2nd into 3rd); Sandbucket List (3rd into 4th); Tanabata Wish (4th into 5th); U.S. Flag Coloring Page (Just for Fun). Simply Storytime. The return of an old favorite. As the name suggests, we will gather in the Children’s Program Room for some storytime fun! This family program will be offered at various times to accommodate all families. No registration required. For all ages. Monday, June 29th @ 10:30 am, Wednesday, July 1st @ 6:30 pm and Thursday, July 2nd @ 10:30 am.

Buster, the Blue Claws Mascot will come by to say hello and to hand out summer reading incentives to young visitors in the quiet reading area. No registration is required. Bring your camera for a great photo opportunity! Monday, June 29th @ 11:00 am.

Kids Playgroup. An all-ages playgroup that encourages children to explore hands-on activities and develop social skills. Grown-ups can chat and connect with other parents/caregivers while supervising their children’s play in the quiet reading area. No registration required. Tuesday, June 30th @ 10:30 am.

Drop-In LEGO Building Sessions. We will have our LEGOs out in our quiet reading area. Parents bringing younger siblings need to be vigilant with their little ones to prevent choking. No registration is required. For ages 5+. Wednesday, July 1st @ 6:30 pm.

Mother Goose is an early language, literacy, and social learning experience for babies and toddlers with their parents/caregivers. Children and their grown-ups will enjoy social time with toys and books followed by fun with songs, rhymes, and fingerplays. For ages up to 32 months. Friday, July 3rd @ 10:00 am.

Crafternoon: Toilet Paper Fireworks. Join in the fun while we create fireworks out of toilet paper rolls and pipe-cleaners, and then decorate them to take home! For ages 4-9. Friday, July 3rd @ 3:00 pm.
