Would Monmouth University men's basketball coach support a Colin Kaepernick-style protest when the season kicks off Nov. 11?

West Long Branch, NJ - Would Monmouth University men's basketball team — of last season's Bench Mob fame — support a Colin Kaepernick-style protest of the National Anthem when the season kicks off Nov. 11?
That's what the Asbury Park Press asked MU Hawks head coach King Rice, now in his sixth year coaching the team.
"The whole thing is, you get to choose and do that in our country," said Rice. "Who am I to tell someone they can't do that? I think it would be funny if I even tried to tell somebody they couldn't express themselves ... We haven't addressed it since people started taking the knee or things like that, but we talk about social issues all the time. As a coach of young men, I think you have to do that, and with my background, I'm going to talk about all types of social issues with my team."
