WPC Gears Up for Another Drive-Thru Food Pantry
WPC's Second Drive Thru Food Pantry Will Help Support Local Community Members Hit Hard by Pandemic

Westminster Presbyterian Church, located at 94 Tindall Road in Middletown, will be sponsoring a second food drive to help families in the surrounding communities who are still struggling to make ends meet during the Covid19 crisis.
The first event last month was a huge success. The donations collected completely filled WPC’s Harlan Hall Community Center. Distribution the following week provided more than 75 families with two stuffed bags of pantry essentials. The volunteers ran out of food just before the 3:00 pm cut-off.
“We were so gratified by the generosity of the community and their donations during the first event” noted WPC’s Reverend Joseph Hein. “And the appreciation of the people who picked up the groceries the following week was heart felt and heartwarming. Westminster is committed to serving the community during this continuing crisis and encourages everyone to show kindness and compassion to help one another get through these incredibly difficult and challenging times.”

The second two-phase event will begin on Saturday, May 30th when food donations can be dropped off at the WPC Campus from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Once again WPC will observe all government mandated health precautions. Gloved and masked volunteers will remove the groceries from the trunks, so there will be no person-to-person contact. Anyone from the church or surrounding communities who would like to contribute is asked to place their canned and non-perishable food donations in the trunks of their cars and drive through the WPC parking lot. All foods and canned goods are welcome but suggested items include macaroni and cheese, pasta, tomato sauce, tuna fish, peanut butter and jelly, mayonnaise, and hot and cold cereals.
The following week, on June 6th, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. or while supplies last, WPC will open its pop-up trunk, mobile food pantry to the public for drive-thru distribution. Folks needing food can drive through the WPC parking lot, where gloved and masked volunteers will place groceries in the trunk of the car.
