Police are looking for the Jeep Cherokee used in the crime.
MILLBURN, NJ - An carjacking was foiled by the quick actions of the victim according to the Millburn Township Police Department.
On Dec. 12, Millburn Police Officer Kostovski responded to Rt 24 West just west of The Mall at Short Hills after a resident called in an attempted carjacking. According to police, the resident's 2017 Porsche Macan was struck in the rear while driving his Hobart Gap Road by a Jeep Cherokee. The victim told police he pulled over and a black male in his 20's approached his passenger side window and began yelling at him to get out of the vehicle.
According to police, the victim began to call the police as the man outside the car tried to grab the door handle. Police said that prompted the victim to accelerate on to Rt 124, where he was then rammed by the Jeep before it fled on to Rt 24 West.
