MILLBURN, NJ — With Subtropical Storm Nicole predicted to bring up to 1.75 inches of rain Friday (see the storm track map and local forecast here), the town of Millburn is asking residents not to put their leaves in the street for collection on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday.

Storms can clog storm drains, they noted.

"Leaves should instead be placed on the lawn behind the curb," the town said in a message. "If you see a DPW leaf crew in the coming days, do not be alarmed. The leaf collection schedule is still being followed, however, crews are also picking up leaves in certain areas to help reduce localized flooding and keep storm drains clear."
