Man With 3 Millburn Warrants Arrested At PATH Station

The Irvington man was also charged with trying to steal a $700 pair of shoes from Fendi at The Mall At Short Hills in May, police say.

MILLBURN, NJ — Port Authority officers apprehended an Irvington man with three active criminal warrants out of Millburn at the Journal Square PATH station on Wednesday after he allegedly stole a commuter’s cell phone, led police on a chase down the tracks and hid under a train, authorities say.

According to the Port Authority of NY/NJ, officers conducting bag checks at the station heard a loud disturbance coming from the direction of Track 3 around 8:10 a.m. On arrival at the scene, a 51-year-old Roselle Park woman and other witnesses pointed to a man running east down the train tracks and stated that he just stole the woman’s phone.

After having workers shut off power, the Port Authority officers – soon joined by several of their counterparts - pursued the suspect east onto the tracks. The officers soon found the suspect – later identified as Yuri McCoy, 20, of Irvington – hiding under a train, authorities said.
