Marines Will Land 4 Military Aircraft At Millburn High School
"The Marines selected Millburn High School again as the only high school in New Jersey to host this exciting event," administrators said.

MILLBURN, NJ — It’s take two for Fleet Week at Millburn High School. On Friday, May 25, the U.S. Marine Corps will land four aircraft at the school as part of Fleet Week New York 2018.
“After this event was rained out last year, the Marines selected Millburn High School again as the only high school in New Jersey to host this exciting event in its own backyard,” Millburn school administrators said.

The aircraft are scheduled to land on the high school athletic fields at 10 a.m. The Marines will then disembark the aircraft and set up a static display that will be open for Millburn High School students and staff from 10 a.m. to noon.

Community members are invited to participate in public events from 12:30 to 2 p.m., Millburn school officials said.

- four Marine Corps aircraft
- opportunity to walk through each aircraft and interact with Marine pilots
- military displays
- explosive ordinance robotics demonstration
- demonstration of the different weapon systems that are used in the Marine Corps
Marines will embark the aircraft at approximately 2 p.m. and leave at 2:30 p.m. Parking will be available on the front lawn of Millburn High School, 462 Millburn Avenue from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
“Please do not be alarmed by the aircrafts as Millburn Township has coordinated this event with the school,” municipal officials stated on Wednesday.

The U.S. Marine Corps released the following advisory about the event at MHS:
“The Marines of New Jersey were selected to have one Marine Air Ground Task Force static display at a high school of our choice. After carefully selecting high schools that met the criteria of academic excellence, large student population and high quality surrounding communities, Millburn High School rose to the top of that list.”
According to the U.S. Marine Corps:
“At this event students will be able to see four Marine Corps aircraft fly and land at the High School. The aircraft flying in will be an MV-22 Osprey, a CH53 Super Stallion Helicopter, a UH-1 Huey Helicopter and an AH-1 Super Cobra Helicopter.”
