Millburn Library Free Concert: The Music of Maria Linnemann

Classical guitar duo Darren O'Neill and Cheryl Terhune Cronk will present Maria Linnemann's music on March 26 at the Millburn Library.

MILLBURN, NJ — The Millburn Free Public Library will present a free concert, "Recaptured Moment: The Music of Maria Linnemann," with classical guitarists Darren O'Neill and Cheryl Terhune Cronk at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 26 in the auditorium.

According to a news release, classical guitar duo Darren O’Neill & Cheryl Terhune Cronk bring together Maria Linnemann’s "exquisite musical portraits of people and places."

Cheryl Terhune Cronk is a guitarist, composer, vocalist, and music teacher. Her music career has taken her from serious music as a classical guitarist and composer to songwriting with lyricists Kent LaRue, K.C. Gingras, and Deborah Scala.

Darren O’Neill is an Assistant Professor at Montclair State University. As a member of Trio Brioso, he gave his Carnegie Hall debut in 1997. As a member of the Nova Segno Duo, he performed and recorded on antique instruments from the historic collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and was featured in the 2011 exhibition, "Guitar Heroes."

"Maria Linnemann was born in Amsterdam in 1947 and grew up in England. She attended the Royal Academy of Music in London from 1966 to 1970, studying piano, violin, and conducting. Since 1971, she has been living in Germany. She is well known in Europe and Asia, having written musicals, guitar pieces, and more than 100 songs of all kinds."
