Millburn has released information regarding the Nov. 3 2020 General Election.

November 3 General Election Information

The general election is Tuesday, November 3!

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy signed Executive Orders No. 177 (PDF) and No. 179 (PDF) to create a modified vote-by-mail election for the November election due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The order suspends the sending of sample ballots, and requires that each county’s elections officials send vote-by-mail ballots with pre-paid postage to all active registered voters for the General Election.

Please be advised that all active registered voters will be receiving mail-in ballots for the upcoming General Election on November 3, 2020. No sample ballots will be sent to voters. Official ballots are scheduled to be mailed during the first week of October.

Voting Options for the General Election on November 3, 2020

Voters will have three options for returning their own completed ballots to Essex County. Please see below specific to Millburn Township registered voters:

  1. Place your ballot in the secure drop box outside of the Milburn Township Municipal Building located at 375 Millburn Avenue, Millburn. This box is monitored 24-7 by a security camera. Please be advised that the Essex County Board of Elections will collect ballots daily and bring them to Newark for processing;
  2. Turn in your ballot at a polling location before 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2020;
  3. Mail your ballot via the United States Postal Service (ballots must be postmarked no later than November 3 and be received by the County Clerk no later than 8:00 p.m. on November 10).

Voters who choose to cast their vote in-person may do so on provisional ballots only at the Township’s designated polling sites on the day of the election. Information will follow in regards to the designated polling locations in Millburn Township. Individuals who require access to ADA-conforming voting machines may also vote at the Township’s designated polling sites on the day of the election.

How to Track Your Mail-In Ballot:

Start by signing into your personal New Jersey Voter Registration System account information. If do not already have an account, click here to set up your NJ Voter Information System account or you can also call your County Election Officials to track your Mail-In Ballot.
Remember to return your completed vote by mail ballot! Please be advised that if YOU CHOOSE TO GO TO THE POLLS YOU WILL RECEIVE A PROVISIONAL PAPER BALLOT. Accommodations will be made for voters with disabilities.
