Millburn To Open New Turf Field Saturday
Inaugural games are scheduled throughout the day.

MILLBURN, NJ - It took a few months to get approved and a few weeks to install but on Saturday the Millburn Recreation Department will be cutting the ribbon on the Library Turf Field between 11:45 a.m. and noon.
Athletes representing each sport that will be played on the field as well as Township and Board of Education Officials will be included in the ceremony. Cookies and cider will be served to attendees from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Schedule of events
- 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. Junior Lacrosse
- 11 – 11:45 a.m. Recreation 1st & 2nd grade soccer
- 11:45 a.m. – 12 p.m. Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
- Noon – 12:45 p.m. Recreation 1st & 2nd grade soccer
- 1 – 2:00 p.m. Recreation Field Hockey
- 2:15 – 4:30 p.m. Millburn Soccer Club
In case of inclement weather or if field completion is delayed, the Turf Field Grand Opening will occur on Saturday, Nov. 23. Call the Recreation Information line for updates (973) 564-7096.

Attendees are being asked not to park in the Library spaces and instead park in the Commuter section of the Library Lot #9, in the Millburn Train Station Commuter Lot # 7 or behind the Millburn Middle School and use the pedestrian bridge to get to the Library Field.
A unanimous vote by the Millburn Township Committee to authorized a bond ordinance to the tune of $870,000 to install the turf and the work began to install in on Sept. 27. The project was completed ahead of schedule.
