Naming Policy Pulled from BOE Agenda
The Policy Committee chairman will not be attending Monday's meeting.
A second reading of changes to the Board of Education's naming policy has been pulled from the agenda for Monday night.
The school board meets at 7:45 p.m. at the Education Center. The agenda lists a second reading for the board's naming policy, but Nancy Dries, school district spokewoman, said the item has been pulled from the agenda because Policy Committee Chairman Samuel Levy won't be able to attend the meeting.
The board has been discussing changes to the policy for several months, including during the last meeting in August. The most recent policy proposal would create a waiting period for naming "buildings, rooms, fixtures and structures" for former students and staff. It would also include a 10-year sunset clause.
