NJ Jewish News: Town Raises Concerns on Second Chabad

The rabbi of a second chabad in Short Hills met with township officials recently to address zoning issues, according to a New Jersey Jewish News report.

Rabbi Mendel Solomon holds daily and Shabbat services at Ahavat Torah, his property on White Oak Ridge Road, according to the report. He met with officials to address township officials' concerns he was in violation of the zoning ordinance prohibiting the operation of a synagogue at his home. Solomon is not affiliated with the Chai Center, which is currently seeking to build a synagogue on Jefferson Avenue after a legal fight over zoning issues with the township.
