Parents To Start To Receive Back to School Information
New families should register by Monday, bus information is coming next week and class information will be posted next week.

It's still summer, but soon parents thoughts will turn from beaches and camp to school. And there is plenty to do to get ready for the first day of school on Sept. 7.
Each school in Millburn-Short Hills is holding summer registration for families who have just moved to the district. Registration should be done at each school where the child will attend or can be done at the Education center.
Parents should contract the elementary school office first to make an appointment to register their child. The office staff is part-time during the summer.

Parents are asked to complete registration by Monday so new students can be included in the summer information mailing that is sent home around Aug. 20. It is not a deadline to register as registrations are ongoing.
Children must be five years old on or before Oct. 1 to enter kindergarten in the fall. Parents must register in person. An official, original birth certificate must be shown during registration. Two documents demonstrating proof of residency also are required such as a copy of the lease, deed or contract for your home, a current utility bill, or other dated documents that prove you are a current Millburn resident.

Any families with a signed house contract or lease who will be moving into the township are also encouraged to register all their school-aged children. Parents with a question about registration or which school their children will attend may contact the Education Center receptionist at 973-376-3600.
Looking for elementary school bus information? Parents will receive their child's bus information via e-mail next week. Kindergarten and new student families will receive bus route information via regular mail.
During the week of Aug. 16 parents will receive an email sent from the school district using Blackboard Connect, the system that is used to send out snow closing and other important information. The email will include the student's bus number, pickup location and schedule. Students will receive a hard copy of the bus pass when they return to school on Sept. 7.
High School and Middle School students will receive their bus passes in the usual summer mailing.
If a family has not received an email (elementary schools) or a bus pass (MMS & MHS) by the end of August, they should e-mail Transportation Director, Kathleen McGowan at kathleen.mcgowan@millburn.org and she will e-mail them their bus pass information. Do not phone her.
Elementary school families will be able to learn their class assignments via Edline starting Aug. 20. Kindergarten and new students families will receive their assignments, and activation codes for Edline by mail.
