Pedestrian Killed Crossing Street In Millburn
Virginia S. Thaler was struck by a car as she attempted to cross Lackawanna Place, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.

MILLBURN, NJ - A 70-year-old woman from Brooklyn, NY, was struck and killed as she attempted to cross Lackawanna Place Monday night, according to Essex County Prosecutor's Office Spokesperson Katherine Carter.
Virginia S. Thaler was attempting to cross the street at 8:45 p.m. when she was struck by a car, Carter said. Authorities said the driver of the car stopped and called for help.
Thaler was transported to Morristown Medical Center where she was pronounced dead at 9:54 p.m., Carter said.

The investigation is active and ongoing according to Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, and Millburn Police Chief Brian Gilfedder.
No charges have been filed at this time.
