Police Arrest Man for Robbery at STS Tire & Auto
Police are seeking a second man believed to be involved in the incident.

A Newark man was arrested for his alleged part in a robbery and illegal dumping at STS Tire & Auto on Morris Turnpike.
Danny Earp, 49, was arrested on Thursday at police headquarters and charged with robbery. Police believe another man was involved in the Aug. 12 incident, and the investigation is ongoing.
At just before 7:20 a.m. on Aug. 12, police responded to the business on a report of illegal dumping an an assault. Police said the employee reported he arrived for work and saw a rental box truck backed into an area where there had been previous illegal dumping incidents. The employee confronted a man at the rear of the truck who he believed was dumping tires, police said.

The victim was kicked in the back of his head by a second man, and a struggle ensued in which the employee attempted to stop the men from leaving by getting their keys, police said. The victim told police he attempted to call 911 on his cellular phone, but the two men attempted to take it.
The two men entered the truck and fled the scene with the employee following in his personal vehicle, police said. The employee told police he followed the truck onto Route 78 east until the truck drove over the center median and exited the highway at exit 49A.

The victim declined medical attention but reported injuries to his head and wrist.
Township Resident Reports Internet Scam
A Millburn resident reported an Internet scam that involved wiring money to someone in Washington state.
The resident reported on Wednesday she was contacted by an individual offering $300 per week to pick up his mail when doing a job search in early July. She declined the offer.
On Wednesday she received a UPS package containing a check for $1,500 with instructions to cash the check, keep $650 and wire $950 to an individual in Spokane, Wa. via Western Union.
The victim believed it was a scam and turned the check over to police.
Police Make Arrests at Neiman Marcus
Millburn police arrested three people for two incidents at Neiman Marcus at the Mall at Short Hills.
On Saturday, police arrested a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old from Newark for shoplifting. The names of the two teens was withheld because of their age. The 15-year-old is accused of concealing a shirt valued at $275 under her clothing. The 16-year-old is accused of concealing a leather jacket valued at $795 under her clothing.
On Tuesday, police arrested Morgan S. Booker, 19, of West Orange, and charged him with shoplifting. He is accused of concealing three articles of clothing in a shopping bag and exiting the store. The merchandise has a combined value of $461.
Township Signs Vandalized
Police are seeking information on township signs that were damaged with graffiti.
A stop sign at the corner of Spencer Drive and Keats road and the intersection warning signs at Spencer Drive/Wordsworth Road and Addison Drive/Colerirdge Road were damaged with spray paint.

Car Stolen from Morris Turnpike Parking Lot
Police are investigating a stolen car from a Route 124 parking lot.
A Lyndhurst resident reported on Friday the theft of her 2000 Acura Integra from the office building parking lot at 636 Morris Turnpike. Police believe the car was stolen between 1:30 p.m. and just after 5 p.m. on Friday.
