Police Arrest Second Man in STS Tire Robbery
Two men from Newark have been charged for the illegal dumping and robbery at the Morris Turnpike business.

Millburn police arrested a second man for a robbery reported at STS Tire & Auto earlier this month.
Kyle K. Flowers, 38, of Newark, was arrested on Friday and charged with robbery. Police previously arrested Danny Earp, 49, of Newark was arrested charged him with robbery for the Aug. 12 incident.
At just before 7:20 a.m. on Aug. 12, police responded to the Morris Turnpike business on a report of illegal dumping and an assault. Police said the employee reported he arrived for work and saw a rental box truck backed into an area where there had been previous illegal dumping incidents. The employee confronted a man at the rear of the truck who he believed was dumping tires, police said.

The victim was kicked in the back of his head by a second man, and a struggle ensued in which the employee attempted to stop the men from leaving by getting their keys, police said. The victim told police he attempted to call 911 on his cellular phone, but the two men attempted to take it.
The two men entered the truck and fled the scene with the employee following in his personal vehicle, police said. The employee told police he followed the truck onto Route 78 east until the truck drove over the center median and exited the highway at exit 49A.

The victim declined medical attention but reported injuries to his head and wrist.
