Police Investigate Golf Course Clubhouse, Restaurant Burglary

Police say cash was taken from the East Orange Golf Course and the nearby Johnny's on the Green restaurant.

Police are investigating a burglary at the East Orange Golf Course clubhouse and the nearby Johnny's on the Green Restaurant.

Police said was taken from both locations in the burglary reported on Thursday morning.

Police first responded to the clubhouse at the golf course, which is located at 440 Parsonage Hill Road, and found someone entered the clubhouse by prying open the rear door. Police believe the burglary happened between 6:46 p.m. on Wednesday and 8 a.m. on Thursday. Cash was taken, police said.

While conducting a check on the property, officers found glass was broken out of the back door to Johnny's on the Green at the same address. The office had been broken into, and an undetermined amount of cash was stolen, police said.

Police Investigate Theft, Make Fraud Arrest at Mall

Police investigated the report of a theft and arrested another person for a fraud incident at the mall at Short Hills.

On Friday, the Abercrombie & Fitch manager reported a shoplifting where two men concealed 12 shirts in a large bag and left the store. Police did not find the two men. The shirts had a combined value of $840.

On Wednesday, police arrested Tasnim Jeffries, 27, of Brooklyn, N.Y., and charged her with theft of identity, fraudulent use of credit cards, forgery and theft by deception. Police said Bloomingdale's Loss Prevention Staff was suspicious of an individual making a credit account purchase with an out-of-state identification card and had to read personal information from a piece of paper.

Following an investigation, police said they arrested Jeffries for fraudulently obtaining merchandise that had a combined value of $1,601.
