Police Issue Over 200 Left Turn Tickets
There is a no left turn from Millburn Avenue onto Main Street as part of the bridge construction project.

Millburn police issued 224 tickets to motorists who turned left from Millburn Avenue onto Main Street on Thursday and Friday.
A no left turn is in place at the intersection due to the downtown construction project. The restriction is expected to be in place for the first phase of construction. On Thursday and Friday officers were at the intersection issuing tickets to people turning left.
Officers issued 148 citations on Thursday and 76 on Friday, according to Police Capt. James Miller. He said the tickets were issued as part of a special enforcement, but officers can issue tickets an any time for the no left turn. He also did not rule out another special detail could happen in the future. "It depends upon the circumstances and our observations," he said.

One complaint from motorists is the signage, saying there isn't enough of it. Both Miller and Capt. Greg Weber said they believe there is sufficient signage for the no left turn. Weber said there are five or six signs warning of the no left turn. Both said police requested county officials to lower the no left turn sign on the pole adjacent to Gito on the corner.
