Third Annual Jake's Ride Planned

The event is scheduled for Sept. 26 at Hartshorn Elementary School.

The third annual Jake's Ride for Dystonia Research is coming at the end of the month, and the Township Committee issued a proclamation Tuesday night for the event.

The event is inspired by Jake Silverman, a freshman at Millburn High School, who has been battling Dystonia for several years. The event raises awareness for Dystonia and Parkinson's Disease and money for research about the disease with the The Bachmann-Strauss Dystonia & Parkinson Foundation. Thus far the event has raised enough money for seven grants.

The event is scheduled for Sept. 26 at Hartshorn Elementary School. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., the 20 mile ride is at 9 a.m., the 10 miles at 9:10 a.m., the five mile at 9:20 a.m. and the 1 mile and walkers are at 9:30 a.m.
