Wyoming Avenue Crash Sends One to Hospital
Plus, JCP&L had to cut wires to free the driver of a truck.

The driver of a pick-up truck was taken to the hospital after a crash on Wyoming Avenue early Sunday morning.
The driver hit a parked van on the passenger side, tearing off the van's rear wheel and the front wheel on his Ford pick-up truck at the corner of Wyoming and Elm Street at just after 1 a.m., according to a Millburn Fire Department report. His truck rolled and landed upright when it came to a rest on a nearby lawn in the bushes.
Firefighters used a saw to cut back the bushes and to open the driver side door to free the driver, according to the report. They and Millburn-Short Hills Volunteer First Aid Squad EMTs treated the driver for an injury to his lower left arm, which was bleeding. He was removed on a backboard and transported to an area hospital by the squad. Firefighters were on scene for nearly 90 minutes.

Driver Trapped in Truck Due to Wires
Jersey Central Power & Light workers had to cut wires to free the driver of a dump truck on Wednesday night.

The driver of the truck pulled down the wires when turning out of a parking lot on South Orange Avenue about 500 yards from Brookside Drive at just after 8:30 p.m., according to a Millburn Fire Department report. The driver was not injured, but he could not get out of the truck because of the wires.
JCP&L responded to cut the wires to free the driver. The workers reported the wires were still live.
Firefighters were on scene for about 90 minutes.
Tree Brings Down Wires on Woodland
A tree brought down wires on Woodland Road during the storm that moved through the region on Friday.
The tree also came down on a Honda and cracked a telephone pole in the area at about 1:30 p.m., according to a Millburn Fire Department report. Firefighters notified Jersey Central Power & Light, Verizon and the township Shade Tree crew. JCP&L removed the tree on arrival, and there was minimal damage to the car. Firefighters were on scene until 3:20 p.m.
House Evacuated for Carbon Monoxide
A family was evacuated from their house because of carbon monoxide levels on Saturday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to the house on Farbrook Drive at just after 1 p.m., and they found levels of 14-17 parts per million in the basement and 6-7 parts per million in other parts of the house, according to a Millburn Fire Department report. The family did not show any symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Firefighters vented the house and had the levels to zero by the time a PSE&G representative responded to the scene. The representative was to check the heating system.
